There are scenes like this all over Connemara. Long country tracks that take turns to hug the mountains, or the sea. No traffic, just a sense of peace and stillness.
The image size is 11.5 x 8 inches, on St Cuthbert's Mill rough watercolour paper. This original painting is finished in a soft white mount ready for framing in a 16x12 inch frame.
A bit about the colour.
Colours may vary slightly on screen, so to help you I will describe them here. The distant mountain is a warm, almost mauvy blue. A bright splash of gold green where the sun hits the trees from behind the storm clouds. The sky is a brooding stormy, warm-blue grey with tinges of brown. The fields are a mixture of straw, golden and muted pale greens and sage. The road and stone wall are a warm grey, painted with Daniel Smith's Moonglow which adds a purple hue to the grey.
Rush Hour in Connemara has delicate textures, layers of transparent colour which builds to give a sense of light and distance within the painting.
