How do you paint light? You are painting the invisible. In watercolour it is the single most important element of the painting because without the inner light, watercolour has no life.

There are so many things that can spark inspiration. A split second glance sows a seed of creativity. For me, light is the most powerful of these triggers. Walking through the woods, sunlight streaming through autumn leaves, dark thunderous skies, clouds lit up from behind creating a silver lining, or the warm deep shadows and blinding light of sunny holiday cityscapes. What are your favourites from these images? Do they stir something in you? Can you sense a nugget of inspiration you can build on?
